A SECRET FROM MY PARENTS

            Have you ever got the most important lesson for your life? If no, you are lucky. Why? That is because I will share about that here. Firstly, you have to know that life is never separated from one word. That is learning. We must learn as long as we still do activities. The smallest scope for learning is in the family. Usually, the children learn from their parents about how they have to behave, what they have to do or not, etc. I am the one of those children. I learn many things from my parent’s life, but I have one the most important thing that I learn from them. So, what is that? Read this one!

            My parents are the people who always have a positive thinking. They always tough when they facing the problems. They really rare to become worry. They said to me that when you facing the problems, you have to think that your God is bigger than your problems. They began their marriage from zero. There was not the slightest thing can be given from their parents. Only one hope they had and believed that is ‘Lord will bless the man that trusts in Him, and whose hope the Lord is’. That is a quote from the Bible verses that guide their life. So, they hold what God said.  Now, their beliefs become a reality. They have become the success people, but that does not make them forget with God's help. They continue to more rely and faithful on God. They often remind me that we live from the blessings of God.

            From my parent’s life, I learn one of the most important things for my life. That is I have to make dependent of my life on God whatever happens. Honestly, it is difficult to still depend and thankful to God when my condition was bad. I have to remove all my negatives thinking when the problems came. I have to try hard to do this because the negatives thinking will come quickly to my mind when I faced the problem. I have ever tried it, and when I took a decision to depend to God, He fulfilled His promise. He showed the way out of my problem.

     Now, I do not doubt to do the same thing that my parents had done in their life. Depend on God is a secret to have a life of a true life. I do not see through the eyes of a man anymore when I faced a problem, but I learn to see through the eyes of God. I believe that God will never leave me whatever my situation and condition. My parent’s life is really become an inspiration for my future life. I am thankful to God that He made them as my parents.

A Servant Becomes A Hero

Do you know who is your everyday’s heroes? Some people don’t realize who are their everyday’s heroes. They more remember heroes who helped them in big things and in one event than heroes who helped them everyday. Help is usually given by everyday’s heroes are considered as a routine activity that it should be done. I think almost everyone have everyday’s hero in their life, so do I. usually, if I talk about everyday’s hero, I always answer that is my parents. Yes, of course they are my heroes, but I have realized that I have one another everyday’s hero. Can you guess who is she?

                She is my servant. Her name is Erus. She is 47 years old. She had been working for 8 years in my house. She becomes a servant since she was at second grade in elementary school. That is her last educational. So, she had been being a servant for 40 years. That has been so long. She does not have a chance to change her job because being a servant is only her expertise. She has 3 daughters and 1 son. Two of them had been working, and they do not live with her. She lives with her 3^rd daughter,1^st daughter, and her granddaughter. Her husband work in other city as a hawker and comes home once a month. She must work because her husband’s income is not enough to fund her family. Work as a servant is not easy. She said that sometimes she feel tired and bored to do the same activities everyday, and it is difficult to be successful if I just became a servant, but she is happy if her boss satisfied with her work and she can help them.

                I know my servant since 8 years ago, but I never realize that she is my everyday’s hero too other that my parents. I need her every day. Without him, I would be busy. Nobody wash my clothes, ironing, cleaning my house, etc. I can’t do all the things myself. I need her to help me. I amazed with her struggle to become a servant for many years to support her family.

I can learn 3 lessons from her life. First, spirit is not pegged at age. She is not young more, but she still has a spirit of youth. Second,  age does not limit a person to keep fighting. Third, hope will make someone keep trying. I know she has a hope that her children have chances to choose their future. She is my everyday’s hero eventhough, she is not feel that. She is just laughing when I say that. I hope she can be my everyday’s hero continuously.

BIG DREAMS BIG EFFORTS

I have one dream since I was child. I want to be a piano teacher. I have to do some sacrifices to reach my dream. Every week since I was 6 years old, I have to go to have a course. I faced many challenges to get to where my course like a bad weather, traffic jam, and feel sleepy and tired. Every day I have to practice for minimum 1 hour. The practice and fun play are different. Practice piano will spend energy and make eyes tired to read notes, my hands and body get sore cause I have to sit and play it in the fixed position. I felt it is too difficult to reach my dream, because I have to pass long journey to get it even I have ever thought that I cannot reach my dream. I think if I just want to play a piano, maybe it is easier because I just need some months to learn it, but if I want to be a piano teacher, it will spend a long time.

            I have watched a Nike commercial from Youtube. The commercial show how some athletes fight day by day, month by month until they get a big victory. This commercial is really good. This can build enthusiasm for those people who are doing battle to get what they want, especially for teenagers which usually is pursuing a dream. Nike has a great symbol. Its symbol is check. Every symbol has meanings, so does Nike. The symbol of Nike which is check symbolizes your choice and something that you have done. When you want to choose your choice, you will put a check on what you choose in a list, and when you have done something you will put a check too.

            When I have watched that commercial, I realize that is not only me who have a dream and have to fight it. My struggle is not heavy when compared to athletes who struggle in that commercial. Now, I have been learning piano almost 13 years.  My struggle almost finished, but I have to pass the most difficult grade. Technically I've been able to become piano teacher, but officially, I have to pass my last grade and follow an audition to be an official piano teacher. I have more struggling to reach my dream. Based on this commercial, choose something by put a check and done it by put it too. That means start with a check and end with a check too. I have done my first check and now I am in the process to done my second check. From this commercial, I learn one the most important thing that a big dream must be accompanied by a big effort, and I will get a success and a victory. So, try a big effort to get a big dream!

THE BEST OF CRACKED POT

Have you ever read or heard ‘The Tale of The Cracked Pot’ story? If no, you should read this one. That is a simple short story which teaches me two lessons for my life. I cannot wait to share it with you. I will start by telling ‘The Tale of The Cracked Pot’ story first.

One day, there were two pots which always were brought to a stream to be filled a water by a woman. One of pots was a perfect and always delivered a full portion of water while the other pot had a crack in it and just delivered only a half full. The perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments and the cracked pot feel shy and not confident. Two years later, the cracked pot spoke to the woman that he ashamed of himself, because this crack in his side causes water to leak out all the way back to her house. The woman told him that there are flowers on his side of the path, but not on the other pot's side. That is because the woman has always known about his flaw, so she planted flower seeds on his side of the path, and every day while they walk back, he water them, and during 2 years, there have been many flowers that the woman took home. She said that the beauty of her house will not be without the cracked pot.

This story is so simple, but I can take two lessons for my life from this. Firstly, the story tells me that the cracked pot feel shy and not confident because he just delivered a half full of water. He is not perfect. I compare the cracked pot as friend in a real life. I am not perfect as a friend, and sometimes feel the same feelings like the cracked pot, or reverse that I have a friend who feel like that. I have to remember that every human has a flaw like the cracked pot, but from the flaw, I can be another favorable person to others. It likes the cracked pot which hose flowers. Secondly, I look from another side too. This is about the woman. The woman planted flower seeds on the cracked pot side of the path and use it to hose them. In a real life, I have to help my cracked pot friends to find their excess behind their flaws. This is like the woman who help the cracked pot by changing his flaw to be an excess, so the cracked pot can help the flowers grew.

From both lessons, I know that is me as a friend, I have to find my friend’s excess. I have to look my friends from a good side. If I just look my friends from a bad side, I will not find a good friend. Like that story, the cracked pot gave the best of him to the woman. So, the cracked pot friends can be the best for me if I look them from their good side. For me, a good friend is someone who knows my flaw and changes it to my excess. So, I want to be a good friend for my friends. I realize that every human has unique flaws, but we live in the same world. So, I have to appreciate each flaw that every person has because it makes me very interesting and rewarding to live in this world.

A Perfect Song From A Bad Man

Have you ever felt many emotions when you heard a song? If you say yes, that means you have heard a perfect song. A perfect song is the song that is made by emotion’s composer. Do you believe that the perfect song is made by a bad man? That is the fact. How can? To explain it, I will tell you about Mozart’s life. I know the first question in your head is ‘who is the Mozart?’.

           

        Mozart is the one of the greatest classical musician geniuses of all time. He was born in Salzburg in 1756. His full name is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart is very famous composer until now. Everyone who studies classic music must learn Mozart’s pieces. Mozart composed his first symphony at age ten. His father educated him to be a discipline and hard working person. Mozart's innate ability as a musician became increasingly apparent as he grew older. Mozart has reached a success in his early life. He travelled to many countries to concerts. Many people recognized his greatness as a young composer.

           

               I will remind you that no one perfect in the world. Although Mozart had a success and perfect career, he didn’t have a success and perfect life. His life is too sad if we compare with his career. He liked drinking alcohol. Because of it, his health grows worse. He had much debt during his life. Because of it, many people didn’t respect with him and became his enemies. He could not manage his financial because he liked to spree. He was a poor man. How come Mozart as the famous composer was a poor man. The most sadness thing from Mozart is that he has a short life and was buried in unmarked grave. He died when he was 35 years old. Mozart as a success and perfect composer didn’t get a respect and sympathy from another people even when he had died.

           

               The last question is why did Mozart make his life so sad? There are some factors that we can conclude from Mozart’s biography. The first, he became a famous too early. He due to having matured very early as an artist but not having the opportunity to mature as a person. Mentally, he had not ready yet to be a famous person in his early life. He could not play and enjoy his time like others when he was child. He had to practice everyday. He was too tired in his early life. The second, he did not realize that he had an amazing talent. There is no resource which is tell that he was grateful of his talent. The third, He was not happy of his life. Although he was a success man, he did not feel like that. So, he searched pleasures by did some stupid things. The bad side from Mozart is that he made his short life failed by do some useless things. On the other side, there is a good side from his life is that he had made a greatest pieces which ever been in the world during his short life. Although many people did not respect with him, his pieces is still used and are played by many composers until now. That is proof that Mozart’s pieces is very different with Mozart’s life. 

The lesson that I can take from Mozart’s life is that I have to be a useful person if I want to be remembered by people. If I just make useful things but I do not become a useful person, it will not enough to make people respect with me. If I am a useful person, I must make something useful, but if I just make something useful, I am not necessarily a useful person. 

I think all of people want to be remembered even after they have been died. So, try to be a useful person!

 A Box Full of Kisses

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy."

The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, "Don't you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Daddy."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.

Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.
